We Fell Asleep

This project involved creating a visual book based on the poem 'We Fell Asleep' by Harronn Rashid. I illustrated each line with watercolours and Artline pens to capture the narrative, then scanned and digitally refined the images, adding the text. Using InDesign, I crafted the book layout for a cohesive flow.

This poem has many meanings the original intention was to evoke emotions regarding losing a loved one. During covid however Rashid wrote a few more lines relevant to the current circumstances. I wanted to create illustrations that had childlike feeling to them but also depicted the truth of each line.
